In the heart of the bustling city lies a retail location that promises to enchant with its unique brand experience. A fusion of experiential retail design with the service offerings of a modern tea house invites customers to indulge in an unforgettable journey.

The space is adorned with a chic design language that evokes a sense of sophistication and elegance. Hero product displays showcase the very best of what the brand has to offer, while modular wall shelving elevates featured products to the forefront of attention.

For those seeking a moment of respite, the in-store tea cafe counter beckons with its warm and inviting ambiance. A haven for daily traffic, it provides a space for patrons to unwind and savor the exquisite flavors of the house's signature teas.

This is more than just a retail location. It is a destination that transports customers to a world of beauty, wonder, and delight.

location. location. location.

Located in one of Tokyo’s most desirable neighborhoods, Harney & Son’s flagship brick and mortar store can be found in the heart of the Omotesando shopping district. As now one of the busiest fashion district in Tokyo, the Omotesando area offers streets lined with hundreds of trendy and fashionable shops from Japan and abroad and is always crowded with shoppers. The Harney & Son’s location offers customers a unique shopping and small plate dining café experience that thrives within a block of one of the neighborhood’s busiest corners.

Karesansui

The Karesansui concept embraces the textural and material qualities of traditional Japanese rock gardens to create a modern retail experience comprised of soothing environments rich with visual splendor.

Natural & Modern

Starting with the colors and materials used in the gardens we find a beautifully balanced collection of grey tones, desaturated warm tones, and green tones. Using these color tones we can pull from a wide selection of natural materials that can build our material palette. When approaching texture and pattern, the goal is simplicity and purity. Environmental forms can begin most simply as repeated concave patterns but they can scale, rotate, or evolve to suit the interior design as needed.

digital Integration

Using a custom build from off the shelf premium displays, we will create an art-forward digital experience solution that is flexible enough to work as both an environmental accent as well as a poetic overlay for product displays. By adding layers of material on top of digital screens, we can reveal beautiful high resolution color movement only where we chose to leaving areas not yet activated with a texture similar to paper.
